RGB, CMJN, HTML, CSS, MVP,SAAS,SNK
A really quick story today …because we are Sunday (Netflix and chill vibe you know) ;). I want to define some acronym we usually use but doesn’t everyone know the meaning.
RGB: Red Green Blue ( or RVB in french)
RGB is a colorimetric mode often used for digital. It is the primary color value used to create every else color. It’s the V of HSV
HSV: Hue Saturation and Value
It’s the way we define colors especially the way we set and communique colors to a computer.
CMYB: Cyan Magenta Yellow Black ( or CMJN in french)
CMYB is also a colorimetric mode but here it’s made for impressions. The print machine has 4 cylinders with ink to work and print stuff Cyan Magenta Yellow Black. They combine the 3first colors for creating the nuance of the needed color and add the black at end of the process. When you work on a print design project please switch your colorimetric mode to CMJN to have the right colors print.
HTML: HyperText Mark Link
HTML is an encoding language design for display text in a web browser. There is 5 version. The most popular is the last little of the 5 families: HTML 5. It’s used by developers to build pages with good information hierarchy and SEO optimization. You can learn HTML for free on youtube or on freecodecamp.org
CSS: Cascade Style Sheet
CSS is the best friend of HTML. This language is used for design webpage and give them a clear and beautiful look. It’s like makeup for pages. SAAS: Software As A Service
A SAAS is a software that can be used straight online without local installation on your computer. It’s one of the big web revolutions. Among the most known SAAS, there is Evernote, Notion, Figma, Photopea … Some big benefits of SAAS software are that there are free or shipper than local installation alternative, they also allow you to use demanding apps with old computers.
MVP: Minimum Valuable Product
When you have a service or product idea (digital or not), you have to quickly craft a v0 of your product. this v0 must not be perfect but, will help you have a better idea of your abstract thought and help you pitch it to investors.
SNK: Shengeki No Kyojin
SNK is an anime and manga book translate into french as l’attaque des titans. The story is about humans people enclosed in cities surround by greats walls to protect them from “Titans attack”. It’s a really good anime but the title translation in English and other Latin languages (Attack of Titans) is false. The good translation of Shigeki No Kyojin is the assailant titan
