You are sitting on your desk for 2 hours, pencil in hand or in front of your computer screen, but no ideas come to you, and the deadline is for tomorrow.

We all struggle with artistic block.

As a designer, Inspirations is just your fuel, Iā€™m not just talking about digital site web to find new ideas for your project but also thoughts that can help those who come for you when youā€™re listening to something or observe nature.

I want to share with you my best places and practices to find inspiration.

First, letā€™s start with nondigital practices that can help you find lost inspiration no matter your field.

WALK:

Nature and exercises are very good to recover yourself. Personally, I love walking for hours and hours with a podcast or just nothing in my ears, listen to areas, and discovering a new place. You can do that when you feel tired or blocked, but you also can introduce this practice in your routine at night or evening (or your convenient personal time)

SING:

no comments!

MUSIC:

Music has hundreds of benefits for our mind and body. Not only it help us relax but also doing music is very good to develop new neuronal connexions and good rhythmical music can replace a cup of tea ā˜•.

READ:

Itā€™s a part of my personal routine, and itā€™s one of the ways I find new ideas. I love reading design blogs ( click here to see my favorites design blogs), but I also love to read about stuff with no link with design or tech like cinematography, self-help, sketch, art ā€¦

BREATHE:

breathing is a good way to overcome the anxiety that can disturb your creativity, good breathing techniques help you focus. You can read my previous article about how to quickly focus

NAP:

Nap and sleep in general, is important to rest, and memory, and focus. I see a nap as a reset focus to recover my energy level during the days. the idea also comes when youā€™re dreaming, some people note immediately their dreams after wake up.

TRY SOME NEW THINGS:

New experiences can be scary but they really inspiring. Most of the time our fear and apprehensions about a new experience are just irrational. If you are paralyzed by fear, try this exercise.

LISTEN TO SOME PODCAST:

I am a great #PodcastAddict. The podcast is my one of my favourite way to learn amazing stuff with amazing people. Take a look at my favorites podcast list here

MEDITATE:

Tidy:

Having clean space, help your mind see things more clearly, but that not the only benefit of going housework. Switch from mental to the manual activity will give active rest to your brain. Your thoughts can wander and you will have a new point of view of the problem you was solving.

TALK WITH A FRIEND OR ASK FOR HELP:

Remember, your design is not (only) for yourself, you do design for ā€œnormals peopleā€ there are future public and users of your work. So if youā€™re locked in your process do not hesitate to ask for help. Calling a friend and ask for feedback, that can unlock!

Now let see online places where we can find some Ins-Pi-Ra-Tion!
